Introduction:
The word “Maasai” invokes romanticised thoughts of tall warriors and the one thing they are never without – their striking bright robes. The shuka adds inimitable African style to home and fashion.
Recognised around the world as the attire of the Maasai, the shuka is traditionally worn in a number of ways and its versatility is enjoyed daily by this revered group of warriors. Available in a range of classic checked designs, it is unsurprising that the shuka has crept into contemporary fashion as a style item. Featured by Louis Vuitton in their 2012 Spring/Summer collection, shuka material is becoming globally popular.
Made out of 100% cotton shuka material, the shuka is heavier than kikoy material. This is a multi-purpose item and is used for a number of different functions around Africa. It can be used as a blanket, wrap, throw, wall hanging, pet blanket, interior decorating, or for making clothes.
This is a wonderful cultural item to incorporate into your home or your daily fashion and a great way to bring a bit of Africa into your personal style. - Customer reviews
