What an absolutely gorgeous item. I had already bought two shirts by different brands locally to me (in Australia), but could not find a cream colour one for my Safari in August, so I ordered this one here online.
It is soooo much nicer than the ones I already have, the fabric so soft, sthecut very stylish. I can see myself wanting to live in this shirt day in day out on my trip!
I followed the measurements in the size guide and chose a size S. I am 165cms tall and 57kgs, and usually a 10 to 12. It fits well, in a just a little (but not too) loose sort of way.

⊙ Garment Measurement - the best way to work out the size you need: To assist you with choosing the right size, we have also included the garment measurements for the Half Bust for this shirt below. If you are not sure which size to order, we recommend checking both the body and garment measurements - but using garments measurements is the best way to work out your size. If you are still not sure about your size please do contact us so we may assist you, before you order. It may also be a good idea to first place a smaller order to check on your size, and then place a larger order once you are sure of your size.
⊙ How to Measure the half bust garment measurement for this shirt:
-Select a long sleeve, button-up, collared shirt which you own and which is a good fit - and which looks similar in design to the shirt which you are ordering.
-Place the shirt flat on a table. The half bust measurement is made from the point where each sleeve meets the bust area of the shirt, across the front of the shirt, as shown on the image below.
-It is important that you gently pull the shirt flat from each side so that it is truly as flat as it can be, as we have shown in the image below. No creases or wrinkles as that will affect the measurement.
-Record the measurement for your shirt in either inches or centimeters.
-Compare the measurement to our size chart to determine the size to order, as follows:
1. Lets say that your measurement comes to 53cm / 20.6 inches across the half bust.
2. Allow 1cm tolerance for our size chart (the international standard for all clothing measurements). As an example, with the international tolerance included, our Medium shirt in the garment size chart below is 'allowed' to measure between 54 and 56cm, as the half bust measurement is 55cm.
3. For your shirt which measured 53cm / 20.6 inches, we would suggest that you order a Medium shirt. If you wanted a tighter fit you could also go for a Small, but Medium would be our suggestion. A little too loose is better than a little too tight.

BUGTech™: It's In the Fabric of Who We Are
⊙ The mantra behind our Rufiji™ and Mara&Meru™ clothing is "No marketing hype - just the facts" - and so we embarked on intensive in-house and independent testing to make sure BUGTech™ performed.
⊙ BUGTech™ fabric has been proven in independent tests by the South African Bureau of Standards (SABS) Pesticide Trial Section to effectively repel mosquitoes. Please view the test results in the images above. We know of no other manufacturer willing to publish their results.
⊙ The active ingredient in our BUGTech™ fabric is permethrin, which is used at the ultra low dosage of 500ppm. Permethrin is a man-made version of a natural insect repellent found in certain Chrysanthemum plants. BUGTech™ utilises a proprietary permethrin formula to provide effective, odourless insect defence.
⊙ BUGTech™ is effective against most biting insects. The formula which we apply to give BUGTech™ its anti-insect properties should also give protection against bites from a host of insects including mosquitoes, ticks, midges, bed bugs, fleas, and ants. This is according to the makers of the formula which gives BUGTech™ the anti-insect finish. Note that we have only tested BUGTech™ for use against mosquitoes.
⊙ The wicking effect of many anti-insect clothing brands is retarded by the addition of anti-insect finish. This traps heat and can be very uncomfortable. In developing BUGTech™, we wanted to ensure our clients got the technical benefits of our highly-successful SAFARITech fabric with added invaluable insect defence. We have tested and compared BUGTech™ and SAFARITech and concluded that the wicking has not been affected by the anti-insect treatment of our BUGTech™ garments.
⊙ Biting flies (such as the tsetse fly): We make no claim that BUGTech™ will work against tsetse flies and other biting flies. In our experience - and after many field tests in tsetse and biting fly areas - Bushman is the best product when it comes to deterring biting flies, but we do not claim that it gives 100% protection (as nothing we know of is able to do that).
